78 acres of native California plant garden in Mission Canyon — the historic Old Mission Dam, meadows, redwoods, and canyon trails.
Founded in 1926, the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden is devoted entirely to native California plants. Trails wind through chaparral, manzanita meadows, a coastal redwood grove, the wildflower meadow, and past the historic Old Mission Dam built by the Chumash.
Best Time to Visit
March–May for wildflower season; the redwood grove is cool year-round.
